MOGAS Industries, Inc. (MOGAS) and Opak Madencilik, an Ankara-based mining services company, have entered into an agreement for Opak to represent MOGAS as an Authorized Repair Center (ARC) in Turkey.
ARCs are supported and trained in the service and repair of MOGAS severe-service ball valves. In Turkey, MOGAS valves see a lot of critical service in multiple autoclave plants, where acidic properties and high pressures and temperatures are very demanding on the valve’s specialized materials of construction. Having local support and repair will benefit plants through quicker turnarounds, reduced labor costs, improved relationship and shared industry expertise.
Kevin Engel, MOGAS VP Service said, “MOGAS is very selective in establishing repair centers, and Opak is truly well qualified and enthusiastic for this increased opportunity to assist clients. They have invested in qualified personnel, specialized training, a service facility and equipment to better meet the needs and demands of MOGAS’ customer base. Because their employees are all degreed engineers who are heavily involved with the day-to-day operations of mining facilities, they are very qualified and knowledgeable in these specific applications needs.”
Hakan Kadıoglu, Opak General Manager said, “All autoclave projects in our territory selected MOGAS valves for their severe-service, on/off applications. We can proudly say we have 100% share of autoclave applications, and are expecting more autoclave projects to be realized in our region as the market gets bigger. This makes an ARC in Turkey more important to achieve our future goals. We are also currently developing the market’s power sector. Our ARC and in-stock sales will be key in our success for this sector as well, thanks to the trust and cooperation of the MOGAS team.”
“Our relationship goes back over a decade working together at autoclave facilities,” said Matt Mogas, MOGAS President and CEO. “In 2012 Opak became a MOGAS rep, and a short four years later was our Platinum Award Winner for outstanding sales and service. They are an invaluable part of our autoclave success in Turkey, and are also growing their presence in the power and process markets.”
