MOGAS expertise on display at BBTC MENA 2018

Charles Walker (pictured second from the right) poses with other speakers at BBTC MENA 2018Charles (Chuck) Walker, MOGAS Global Projects Manager, presented at the European Petroleum Consultants’ Bottom of the Barrel Technology Conference (BBTC) Middle East and North Africa conference on December 3rd, 2018 in Bahrain. The conference focused on technologies and trends related to residue upgrading in refineries. 
 
The conference featured key remarks from the Bahrain Minister of Oil, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. The Minister commented on the forthcoming need to upgrade remaining supplies of petroleum waste and residue, because of stricter global fuel efficiency standards and requirements, especially in maritime activities. 
 
Featured topics discussed at the conference included process solutions in ebullated bed and slurry hydrocracking, coking, gasification, and vacuum distillation. Mr. Walker presented on “Lessons Learned during Heavy Oils Project Start-up,” sharing his knowledge on control valve selection and module operation using programming and automation. Additionally, refining expert Wes Barrett participated in presenting and subsequent individual technical discussions with conference project managers and specialists.
